When to register for UAE Corporation Tax
Elucidation Accounting Services would like to inform all business entities of the recent call by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) to complete Corporate Tax registration. This requirement applies to all Taxable Persons, including both publicly listed and privately held companies.
Businesses operating within Free Zones should note that Corporate Tax registration will soon be available to them, marking a significant development in the UAE’s tax framework.
Additionally, the scope of Corporate Tax registration will expand to include more categories of Taxable Persons, specifically extending to natural persons involved in business or business activities. These new categories will be outlined through an upcoming Cabinet Decision, and registration for these individuals is expected to open at a later date, with further details to follow.
Elucidation Accounting Services is dedicated to keeping you updated and providing professional support as these changes unfold. For any questions or assistance with Corporate Tax Registration, please contact us.
Who must register for the Corporate Tax?
At Elucidation Accounting Services, we provide expert guidance and professional support for Corporate Tax registration in the UAE. According to the UAE Corporate Tax Law and its implementing regulations, all businesses are required to register with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) for Corporate Tax purposes. This includes obtaining a Corporate Tax Registration Number, a critical step for every taxable entity in the UAE—even those not previously registered for VAT.
For domestic companies with branches in the UAE, it’s crucial to understand that these branches are not considered separate legal entities for Corporate Tax registration. They are treated as extensions of their parent company and, therefore, do not require independent registration.
Registration Process on the EmaraTax Platform:
Account Creation and Access: Begin by signing in or creating an account on the EmaraTax platform. Go to the Corporate Tax tab on the Taxable Person dashboard and select “Register.”
Form Completion: Complete the registration form with accurate information, including Entity Type, license information, business activities, proprietor details, branch information (if applicable), registered address, and authorized signatory details.
Submission: After reviewing all information, submit your application.
Please note that the registration process currently applies to individual legal entities. Companies seeking to form a Corporate Tax Group must first register individually. Future provisions will allow entities to establish Corporate Tax Groups, enabling them to apply collectively.
