Special Audits
A
special audit is a well-defined audit that concentrates solely on a particular
aspect of an organization’s operations. Organizations do require professionals
to audit a particular area susceptible to management concerns and expect the
professionals to perform the service according to the agreed-upon scope
determined at the beginning of the engagement. Special Audits have on multiple
occasions revealed crucial information contrary to the department’s
understanding that everything is proceeding in the correct direction. Special
audits are conducted by both internal personnel, such as employees hired
specifically for the task, and external third parties as part of Business
Process Outsourcing (BPO).
